Teach to Lead Teaching Summit, Baltimore Maryland

Welcome to the Northwest Louisiana Teaching Lab!

Meredith, Carrie, Lorrie and I are on the last night of our time in Baltimore, Maryland.  We were invited to the Teach to Lead conference, hosted by the U.S. Department of Education.  I submitted the project proposal to the conference and we were one of 29 proposals selected from across the United States.

We spent two days designing a Logic Model for our project - the Northwest Louisiana Teaching Lab.  Our project is a grassroots movement that provides Professional Development FOR teachers, BY teachers.  WE also provide support and guidance for new teacher in our ever changing world of Education.

Special thanks to Olivia Zepeda (Arizona) and Michael Murphy (NYC), our critical friends offering their advice and asking "Why?"

While in Baltimore, we had the opportunity to discuss our plan with Interim U.S. Department of Education, Dr. John King.

Dr. John King, Interim U.S. Secretary of Education speaking at the Baltimore Teach to Lead Leadership Summit.

Sitting with Dr. King to discuss our project

We were also able to work collaborative with TeachingLab - a nonprofit organization developed by Silas Kulkarni and Max Wagner based on our model.

We are looking to expand our work throughout our district - Bossier Parish.

To keep up with our work and join in our efforts, follow the project on FaceBook, and follow us on Twitter!
